# Andaman & Nicobar Islands

## What island service delivery looks like

The Administration’s February 2026 Civil Supplies newsletter records 32 special Aadhaar camps across Panchayats. It describes targeted work in tribal areas including Harminder Bay and Dugong Creek, 1,927 residents served, and about 1,664 new enrolments. That is evidence of a camp-led access model; it is not a permanent timetable. Residents should therefore confirm a current camp with the Panchayat or district office rather than travel on the strength of an old announcement.

## Plan around the transaction, not the word “Aadhaar”

### New enrolment or biometrics

These require an authorised kit and an in-person visit. On smaller islands, ask whether a scheduled camp is handling adults, children, updates, or only a particular beneficiary drive.

### Document update

Check myAadhaar first. If the field cannot be changed online, use the official centre locator and confirm the operator’s availability locally before arranging inter-island travel.

## Do not confuse ration e-KYC with an Aadhaar update

The same newsletter reports door-to-door e-KYC and ration-record clean-up. Those exercises update or authenticate a departmental beneficiary record; they do not necessarily alter the name, address, mobile number or biometrics held by UIDAI. Ask which database is being changed and keep the acknowledgement from the correct transaction.

Before travelling: confirm the date, island, eligible age group, documents and whether the operator can perform the exact update required. A general camp notice is not proof that every Aadhaar service will be offered.
