# Karnataka

> Karnataka government and professional portals may use Aadhaar for OTP-based e-KYC. That is a login or identity-verification step inside the Karnataka service—not a way to edit Aadhaar.

Important: eAadhaar Info is an independent reference publication. It is not UIDAI or a Government of India website. For transactions, current rules and final verification, use the official UIDAI or myAadhaar service linked by the article.

## The Nursing Council example

The Karnataka State Nursing Council publishes a combined Aadhaar and DigiLocker e-KYC workflow for professional registration. Its instructions say the KYC process is OTP-based, ask the user to fetch education records through DigiLocker and then perform e-KYC inside the KSNC app. The transaction verifies a person for the council; it does not enrol them for Aadhaar or change their UIDAI data.

## When the names do not match

KSNC tells applicants to ensure that the Aadhaar and SSLC names match. That is a warning to compare records, not a reason to rewrite a factually correct identity. Check the birth or school record and Aadhaar side by side, identify which one is wrong, and follow the correction process for that record. A portal’s preferred spelling is not evidence by itself.

## For an actual Aadhaar transaction

- Leave the Karnataka application and open UIDAI’s official centre search.
- Confirm whether the selected station handles adult enrolment, child enrolment, demographic update or biometrics.
- At the visit, verify the operator preview and take the UIDAI EID or update request number.
- Return to the Karnataka service only after the UIDAI request is complete and the updated Aadhaar can be verified.

Keep the references separate: a KSNC application or KYC acknowledgement traces the council workflow; a UIDAI EID/update request number traces the Aadhaar transaction.

Karnataka State Nursing Council — Aadhaar/DigiLocker e-KYC guidance
This official Karnataka workflow demonstrates Aadhaar being used for KYC inside another system. It does not provide Aadhaar enrolment or correction.

- 1 Official council The Karnataka State Nursing Council is the owner of this professional-registration workflow.
- 2 KYC application The download is labelled as an Aadhaar/DigiLocker e-KYC app, not myAadhaar.
- 3 OTP-based step The instructions use Aadhaar-linked mobile OTP inside KSNC; that does not change the UIDAI mobile record.
