# Lost Aadhaar & Reprints

## 1. Registered mobile or email still works

Use [myAadhaar — Retrieve Lost or Forgotten EID/UID](https://myaadhaar.uidai.gov.in/retrieve-eid-uid). Enter the name as enrolled, the linked mobile/email and the OTP. UIDAI lists this retrieval service as free.

## 2. No linked mobile/email access

Visit an authorised enrolment centre. The operator can search using demographic details such as name, gender and district/PIN, then confirm a match using fingerprint or iris authentication.

UIDAI’s current charge sheet lists ₹40 for Aadhaar search plus a colour A4 print. An older UIDAI FAQ still mentions ₹30; this guide uses the newer dated fee schedule.

UIDAI also documents a two-stage 1947 route: an executive helps retrieve the EID, then the IVRS can communicate the Aadhaar number after EID, date-of-birth and PIN verification.

## 3. Need to change the mobile number

This is a separate demographic update. If the old number is unavailable, visit an authorised centre; UIDAI does not require the old mobile number or a supporting document for a centre-based mobile update. The Aadhaar App supports mobile updates only in its published OTP/Face Authentication scenarios.

## 4. Need a durable physical card

Order an [Aadhaar PVC card through myAadhaar](https://myaadhaar.uidai.gov.in/genricPVC) for ₹75 including GST and speed-post delivery. e-Aadhaar, the Aadhaar letter, PVC card and Aadhaar App credential are all valid forms.
