Himachal Pradesh
In Himachal Pradesh, distance and terrain make an unverified centre address especially costly. The official state portal itself points residents back to UIDAI’s live location service rather than maintaining a dependable Aadhaar directory.
Use the portal as a routing map
Himachal’s official portal connects residents to departmental services and Lok Mitra Kendras, but the state material reviewed here does not establish that every Lok Mitra Kendra performs Aadhaar enrolment or biometric updates. A government education circular instead points applicants to UIDAI’s Bhuvan-based centre visualisation for the nearest Aadhaar Seva Kendra.
A mountain-journey checklist
- Search by PIN code, then note more than one possible centre.
- Confirm the service day by phone or with the tehsil/district office before travelling.
- Ask whether the station handles first enrolment, children and biometrics—not only document or demographic updates.
- Carry originals from UIDAI’s current list and allow for a return visit if state verification is required.
Scheme authentication has an exception path
Himachal government notifications for individual schemes reproduce exception handling where Aadhaar has not yet been assigned or authentication fails. Those protections are scheme-specific. The correct question at the department is “what exception applies to this benefit?” rather than “can a Lok Mitra Kendra change my Aadhaar?”
What the government page actually shows
The state portal is a routing page, not a current Aadhaar-centre list. The article therefore sends residents to UIDAI’s live search and local confirmation.
- 1Official portal
Use the nic.in domain and state header to verify the source.
- 2eServices route
The navigation leads to state services; Aadhaar centre status still requires UIDAI/local confirmation.
Himachal Pradesh data snapshot
The figures below come from UIDAI’s state/UT saturation report. They provide context for coverage; they do not identify a live centre or prove that every resident record is current.
UIDAI refreshes this report PDF in place. The figures on this page reflect the report dated 30 June 2026; the current UIDAI link may show a newer or older edition. Open the archived 30 June 2026 edition.
| Measure | Value |
|---|---|
| Projected population (2026) | 75,79,000 |
| Estimated live Aadhaar | 78,65,906 |
| Saturation | 103.79% |
| Data date | 30 Jun 2026 |
Rates can exceed 100% because UIDAI’s estimated-live count and projected population are produced from different administrative/demographic bases.
