FIELD GUIDE · STATE / UNION TERRITORY

Kerala

Kerala’s Akshaya network is not merely adjacent to Aadhaar: the state’s official Akshaya portal identifies it as the authorised enrolment channel and describes dedicated support for children and bedridden residents.

The Akshaya route

The official service page says designated permanent enrolment centres operate through Akshaya across Kerala. It also offers a centre finder filtered to the service. A centre’s general Akshaya listing is not enough—select Aadhaar enrolment or the required update when searching.

Two locally organised access paths

Children

Akshaya describes child enrolment with Anganwadi and district-administration support. Confirm the event, age group and current UIDAI relationship/birth-document requirements.

Bedridden residents

The portal describes mobile units coordinated with Panchayats, municipalities, corporations and district administration. This is arranged assistance, not a promise that any private caller can collect Aadhaar data at home.

Protect against outdated Kerala FAQs

Some older Kerala UID FAQs still surface legacy SMS numbers and update methods. Use the current Akshaya service page for the state channel and UIDAI for live transaction rules. Never send an Aadhaar number or OTP to a number copied from an archived guide.

For a home or mobile visit, verify the request through the local body or Akshaya office before sharing documents. An operator should provide an official acknowledgement for the transaction.
