Maharashtra’s MahaDBT portal shows both Aadhaar and non-Aadhaar registration flows. That makes it a strong example of why a welfare-portal login problem should not automatically trigger an Aadhaar correction.

MahaDBT’s official guidance shows registration using Aadhaar authentication and a non-Aadhaar path using an enrolment ID or other portal details. If an EID has been rejected, the portal tells the applicant to learn the reason and use a permanent enrolment centre, while continuing through the non-Aadhaar registration flow where available.
OTP and biometric are portal choices
The Aadhaar route distinguishes OTP when the mobile number is registered with Aadhaar and biometric authentication where it is not. That describes access to MahaDBT. It is not a remote method for changing the mobile number held by UIDAI.
Bank seeding is a third system
MahaDBT also discusses the bank account selected for DBT. Updating Aadhaar, authenticating on MahaDBT and mapping a bank account for benefits are three separate operations. Record which one failed before visiting a bank, portal helpdesk or Aadhaar centre.
Never edit a correct name merely to make a scholarship application pass. Compare Aadhaar, the educational record and the portal entry; correct the source that is actually wrong.
What the government page actually shows
MahaDBT is a state benefit portal. Authentication or bank-mapping trouble there should not automatically be treated as an Aadhaar correction request.
