Rajasthan

Rajasthan residents deal with two similarly named identities: Aadhaar and Jan Aadhaar. They are connected through e-KYC, but they are not the same number, record or issuing authority.

What Jan Aadhaar e-KYC changes

The state’s current e-KYC page says Aadhaar e-KYC verifies photo, date of birth, gender and name for a Jan Aadhaar member, and that the process can be done through e-Mitra or SSO. It also describes a verifier route when the wrong Aadhaar number is seeded. That corrects the linkage in Jan Aadhaar; it does not edit UIDAI data.

Use e-Mitra transparently

Rajasthan’s Jan Soochna service helps users find e-Mitra kiosks, government-location kiosks, rate lists and overcharging information. Before paying, identify whether the operator is performing Jan Aadhaar e-KYC, printing, or an actual UIDAI update and request the matching receipt.

A Jan Aadhaar mismatch should be diagnosed field by field. Do not alter a correct Aadhaar record merely because the state family record contains an old spelling.
